POSITION SUMMARY:

At DHA, Interns gain valuable industry insight and develop a variety of skills though hands-on experience in a professional environment.  We work with our interns to fulfill their school program requirements and to ensure that they acquire knowledge and skills necessary for future success.  Our wide variety of services provide our interns the opportunity to explore various roles and responsibilities within the industry.  Our Interns are partnered with a team member  who will provide training, ongoing feedback on performance, and encourage development of new skills.

This is a skill building position designed to help students studying Accounting and Tax gain industry experience and develop technical skills.  Applicants should be eager to learn and excited to interact with clients and other members of staff.   Interns who complete our program are encouraged to continue their career with DHA by joining us as Staff Accountants after graduation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Income tax preparation (1040, M1PR, 1041, 1120,1120S, 1065) of easy to moderate complexity
  • Assist with tax planning and calculation of estimated tax payments
  • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities
  • Utilize current tax and accounting software and applications in a digital environment
  • Build rapport with clients while working on their engagements
  • Complete self-studies, formal training, and tax related research
  • Collaborate with team members through effective written and verbal communication
  • Report issues and progress to Supervisor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Pursuing a BA or BS in Accounting or a Masters Degree in Accounting or Tax
  • Completion of Coprorate or Individual Taxation class required
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher for accounting and tax classes
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite

SCHEDULE & LOCATION:

This is a part time summer position, scheduled Monday – Thursday, up to 32 hours a week.  Start date and weekly schedule are flexible based on candidate availability.  Length of internship is also flexible based on program requirements, standard would be between 9 and 10 weeks.  Our technology and processes allow for hybrid work models, but the majority of work should be completed in-office (Chaska, MN).

POSITION SUMMARY:

Staff Accountants have a strong focus on preparing client tax returns, but will also perform services such as business analytics, tax minimization and tax planning, and monthly/quarterly integrated accounting solutions. Staff Accountants typically assist Managers and Partners in completing client engagements and most work is performed with some level of review or supervision.

This is an entry level position with room for advancement and is ideal for someone interested in developing technical skills who also enjoys client service and working collaboratively. The ideal candidate pays attention to detail, can generate new ideas, identifies opportunities, and feels a great sense of ownership in their work.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Income tax preparation (1040, 1120,1120S, 1065) of easy to moderate complexity

  • Monthly/Quarterly accounting/bookkeeping
  • Communicate and meet with clients as needed
  • Support assurance, advisory, consulting, and accounting services as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • Internship or 1+ years of experience in Public Accounting or relevant field
  • Experience with CCH Acxess or ProSystem fx Tax tax preparation software or similar
  • Experience with CCH ProSystem fx Engagement software (preferred)
  • Proficient with Office 365 with intermediate skills in Excel
  • Familiar with Adobe and QuickBooks (online and Destop)

SCHEDULE & LOCATION:

This is a full time 40-hour per week position.  Our technology and processes allow for hybrid work models, but the majority of our staff chooses to work primarily in-office. To meet client needs, our staff works increased hours during tax season (Feb – Apr) and enjoys decreased summer hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day).

SALARY:

$55,000 – $65,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant role has a strong focus on developing advanced technical skills and utilization of professional judgement and critical thinking, which allows individuals in this position to complete a wide assortment of advanced client work. Seniors review work completed by Staff Accountants and Paraprofessionals, assist with staff training and workload management, and assume greater client management responsibilities. Additionally, Seniors analyze and interpret reports and client data to assist management with workload planning and operations.

This is a mid-level level position and is ideal for someone with a strong focus on continued development of technical skills and practicing professional judgement and critical thinking. This person has a talent for interpreting data to identify opportunities and present solutions. The ideal candidate understands the importance of relationships in public accounting, and therefore enjoys working with clients and thrives in a collaborative environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare tax returns of various types and complexities, primarily business tax
  • Prepare annual tax plans including complex, multi-year scenarios
  • Perform advanced financial analysis, including financial forecasts and cash flow analysis
  • Review work prepared by staff accountants and paraprofessionals
  • Establish working relationships with assigned clients and oversee their engagements
  • Organize and conduct staff training for large groups and individuals

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficient with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Adobe, and tax preparation software
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work with exceptional attention to detail
  • Aptitude for leadership and enjoys working as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and willing to take initiative in solving problems and learning new skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting and/or tax preparation
  • Preferred: Active CPA license or interested in/actively pursuing EA or CPA certification

SALARY:

$65,000 – $80,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Administrative Specialist competes a wide variety of administrative tasks while providing excellent client service and cultivating client relationships.  Administrative Specialists provide direct administrative support to firm leadership and should have the ability to adapt to different communication styles and support various needs of the business.  Due to the varied nature of the work, Administrative Specialists should be flexible and responsive regarding time management and prioritization.  This is a high production, fast-paced role with a multitude of responsibilities that will keep you busy and engaged.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Aptitude for customer service, including patience and attentiveness
  • Adept at problem solving and use of conflict resolution skills in high pressure situations
  • Great organization, planning, and decision making skills
  • High standard of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize workload in a deadline driven environment
  • Confident technology skills and ability to learn new software
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Associate or Bachelor degree, or equivalent work experience in a related field
    • 2+ years administrative professional experience preferred
    • Experience in a public accounting office or similar professional environment preferred
    • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Training provided as necessary

      • Monitor front desk (shared responsibility): answer phones, greet clients and vendors, prepare mail, place service calls
      • Manage client billings, accounts receivable, and collections communication
      • Check-in, assemble, and deliver tax returns and other client deliverables
      • Complete client onboarding and maintain client database
      • Generate and format firm reports
      • Draft and distribute client correspondence, including email marketing campaigns (MailChimp)
      • Update and monitor executive calendars
      • Perform clerical duties such as filing, copying, scanning, and faxing

      SCHEDULE & LOCATION:

      This is a 40-hour per week in-office position.  Our technology and processes allow staff to work remotely as necessary, but the majority of staff time is spent working in-office.  To meet client needs, our staff works increased hours during tax season (Feb – Apr) and enjoys decreased summer hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day).

      SALARY:

      $18.00 – $25.00 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience
