Job Description:
Staff Accountants have a strong focus on preparing client tax returns, but will also perform services such as business analytics, tax minimization and tax planning, and monthly/quarterly integrated accounting solutions. Staff Accountants typically assist Managers and Partners in completing client engagements and most work is performed with some level of review or supervision.
This is an entry level position with room for advancement and is ideal for someone interested in developing technical skills who also enjoys client service and working collaboratively. The ideal candidate pays attention to detail, can generate new ideas, identifies opportunities, and feels a great sense of ownership in their work.
Essential Job Functions:
- Income tax preparation (1040, 1120,1120S, 1065) of easy to moderate complexity
- Tax planning for businesses and individuals
- Monthly/Quarterly accounting/bookkeeping
- Communicate and meet with clients as needed
- Support assurance, advisory, consulting, and accounting services as needed

Education and Experience:

- Experience with CCH Acxess or ProSystem fx Tax tax preparation software or similar
- Experience with CCH ProSystem fx Engagement software (preferred)
- Proficient with Office 365 with intermediate skills in Excel
- Familiar with Adobe and QuickBooks (online and Desktop)
Schedule & Location:
This is a full time 40-hour per week position. Our technology and processes allow for hybrid work models, but the majority of our staff chooses to work primarily in-office. To meet client needs, our staff works increased hours during tax season (Feb – Apr) and enjoys decreased summer hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day).

Job Description:
A Senior Tax Accountant has an advanced working knowledge of the skills and technology necessary to perform the role. This position has a strong focus on tax preparation, review, and planning. A Senior Tax Accountant completes a wide assortment of advanced client work reflecting a broad experience in all phases of accounting, tax, advisory, and consulting. Senior Accountants use professional judgment and critical thinking skills to identify opportunities and complete a wide assortment of advanced work. They are responsible for reviewing engagements completed by less experienced staff and will assume client management responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position has an established area of expertise or interest in working with business clients and their shareholders in a collaborative environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Income Tax Preparation (1120S, 1065, 1120, 1040)
- Review tax returns or projects prepared by staff accountants
- Tax planning for businesses and shareholders, including complex and multi-year scenarios
- Perform advanced financial analysis (including cash flow and forecasts)
- Analyze and interpret client data to diagnose opportunities and present solutions
- Establish professional relationships with assigned clients and oversee their engagements
- Client management responsibilities including communications, billing decisions, and workload planning
- Organize and conduct staff training to help drive firm initiatives
- Support assurance, advisory, consulting, and accounting services as needed
- Client Relationship Manager – primary point of contact and oversees client engagements and internal workload for a specific group of clients

Schedule & Location:
- Full-time 40 hours per week; remote or in office with hybrid work from home as needed
- Increased hours during busy season; average 50 hours per week (mid-January – mid-April)
- Decreased Summer hours; 36 hours per week requirement (Memorial Day to Labor Day)
- Office closed on Fridays (April 15 – Labor Day) and on 9 selected US Holidays

Job Description:
The Tax Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the tax team, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and complies with federal, state, and local tax laws. This role includes managing a team of tax professionals, offering guidance and training, and providing subject matter knowledge. Additionally, the Tax Supervisor provides comprehensive tax planning and compliance services, supports the organization’s financial objectives, and fosters strong client relationships.
Essential Job Functions:
- Tax Planning and Compliance:
- Prepare moderate to complex level tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
- Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations, keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation
- Review tax returns and other engagements prepared by the tax team
- Divide time between review and preparation of tax returns
- In the area of specialty (e.g. Individual Tax), spend approximately two-thirds of the time on review and one-third on preparation
- In areas outside of specialty (e.g. Business Tax), split time evenly between review and preparation
- Assist in developing and implementing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits
- Provide tax advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on various business transactions and initiatives
- Perform advanced financial analysis, including financial forecasts and cash flow analysis
- Client Management and Relationship Building:

- Manage and further develop relationships with clients, serving as a primary point of contact for their tax-related needs
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through proactive communication and resolution of conflicts and issues
- Oversee client engagements to maintain consistent and high-quality service delivery

In addition, the Tax Manager plays an active role in business development, leading internal and external initiatives, and driving the firm’s overall strategic direction.

- Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with Partners to develop and implement strategic plans for client growth and firm success
- Identify opportunities for expanding client services and driving new business initiatives
- Stay informed on industry trends, tax legislation changes, and market conditions to guide the firm’s strategy

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (MBA or MT preferred)
- CPA license required
- Minimum of 7 years of public accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a management role
- Extensive experience in tax planning, compliance, and strategy for high-net-worth individuals and businesses
- Experience with tax software programs and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Must complete the required amount of CPE credits annually, with a focus on leadership development
